Indoor Air

The air the people breathe inside a built environment.


Indoor Air Pollutant

Particles and dust, fibres, mists, bio-aerosols, and gases or vapours.


Indoor Air Pollution (IAP)

The contamination of indoor air within buildings, such as homes, offices, and schools, by various pollutants.  This can include smoke, chemicals, allergens, and particulate matter, which can lead to health issues.


Indoor Air Quality (IAQ)

Refers to the air quality within and around buildings, particularly concerning the health and comfort of the occupants.


Infiltration

Air leakage inward through cracks and interstices, and through ceilings, floors, and walls of a space or a building.


Integrated Heating System

HVAC term for a type of heating appliance that performs more than one function, for example, space and water heating.
